What is AYURVEDA?

Ayurveda, in Sanscrit literally means “the science of life”. It is India’s traditional, natural system of medicine that has been practiced for more than 5,000 years. It promotes prevention and longevity and it is the oldest and most holistic medical system that exists today. Ayurveda sees everything in the universe, including human beings, as composed of five elements, namely SPACE, AIR, FIRE, WATER, EARTH. These five elements in turn combine with each other to give rise to three bio-physical forces or “DOSHAS” – VATA (Air & Space or Ether), PITTA (Fire & Water) & KAPHA (Water & Earth).
The secret of good health is achieving the perfect balance of doshas for your body type.

Massage is a very important preventative and curative practice in Ayurveda.

This is the most popular AYURVEDIC MASSAGE TREATMENT in the western world as it combines the benefits of Ayurvedic oils, rich in good properties, with deep tissue massage techniques aimed at releasing tensions and aches, primarily of a muscular type, caused by stresses of modern life. INDIAN HEAD MASSAGE

Is based on the Ayurvedic system of healing. It provides Indian families with relaxation and healing on a daily basis, as well as playing a part in rituals such as weddings and births, not to mention everyday events like a trip to the barber.
The aim of Indian head massage is to release the stress that has accumulated in the tissues, muscles and joints of the head, face, neck and shoulders.
The client, fully clothed, sits in a massage chair for the treatment. The therapist uses a range of different movements including application of deep kneading and compression movements over the neck, shoulder and scalp areas. In addition, the therapist will also gently stimulate and stroke pressure points on the face. The session will usually last from twenty to forty-five minutes.
Indian head massage is especially good for relieving stress, tension, fatigue, insomnia, headaches, migraine and sinusitis. Clients report that the experience is deeply calming and relaxing, energy levels raise and ability to concentrate is gained.
